NiceHash who offers everything crypto in one place (Buy & Sell Hash power & Exchange) wanted to give their users a simple glanceable experience of the core app features.

Apple defines the widgets as a relevant glanceable information and not as a mini app, so that is what I had in mind when designing.

NiceHash iOS Widgets

The Challenge

How to convey complexity of mining, hash power marketplace and cryptocurrency market data in a simple glanceable widget?

Upon designing widgets for iOS, you need to think of 3 different widget layouts, those being small, medium and large. Not all users want to have your widget in the the biggest size, that’s why it’s important to still show relevant data on the smallest widget size too.

Widgets were built with SwiftUI Kit
